We are looking to hire a pasty chef for Asian cuisine


To be successful, you should demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ensure that all duties are completed in a timely manner.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the kitchen is set up with cooking utensils and equipment for the shift operation
  • Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Monitor food stock and place orders
  • Check freshness of food and discard outofdate items
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Requirements:

  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
  • Proven experience as Cook / Commis in an Asian Restaurant
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods especially in Wok, Grill, Sushi, Dimsum and Fryer
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • A diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
