- Focus on selling both ConferenceSpace and Outlets including Food & Beverage, AV and allHotel Services.
- Solicit, negotiate, and booknew and repeat business through various efforts (prospect calls,referrals, etc.) to maximize catering revenues to meet/exceedgoals.
- Plan, up-sell, and detail themeeting/function with the client including space requirements,times, equipment, menus, etc.
- Coordinatepayment procedure to include: credit, prepayment, and billinginstructions, etc.
- Complete the contracts,prepare the appropriate paperwork, coordinate with the appropriateareas in the hotel, and resolve any issues, complaints, and/orproblems to ensure quality product delivery and customersatisfaction.
- Manage event from beginning toend, processing all the information pertaining to the booking toinclude but not limitedto:
- Preparation of creativemenus while always keeping in mind food cost, labor cost andfacilities of the kitchen.
- Confirm electrical,internet, telecommunication, audio-visual and where appropriateExhibit requirements
- Obtain guarantees of foodand beverage events for Banquets andkitchen.
- Maintainaccurate, legible records, and files to provide group history,ensure future and current quality service and enhance futureprospects
- Exceed personal sales and activitiesgoals, monthly, quarterly, andannually.
- Utilize Opera Sales &Catering System to track, solicit, book, and follow -upaccounts
- Conduct site inspections withprospective and existing clients.
- Beknowledgeable of and enforce local and state laws and regulations,with specific reference to health andsafety
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly andannual reports as required. Assist with compilation of competitiveintelligence information.
- Responsible fordissemination of group/ event information to the appropriatedepartments via memos, emails, banquet event orders, directives,resumes and rooming lists in a professional and timelymanner.
- Able to conduct the daily BEO meetingto review event details and to ensure last minute changes arecommunicated accordingly to the operationteam.
- Send out the BEO Meeting Change log& Updates email on a dailybasis.
- Attend daily /weekly / monthly meetingswere your presence is required (Groups operational meeting, salesmeeting, leaders meeting…)
- Establish good business andsocial relationships with the industry and participate inactivities related to public relations in order to further increasesales leads for department as well as Hotel.
- Tocontrol function space maximization and ensure Opera Sales& Catering standards are met.
- To workclosely with the Assistant Director, Sales to prepare monthlyforecasts, as well as month endreports.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma, BusinessSchool and/or Hotel School Diplomapreferred.
- Minimum two year experience inCatering, exposure to Banquet operation is aplus.
- Minimum three years experience in aluxury Hotel environment.
- Candidate must haveflexible schedule and ability to handle multiple taskssimultaneously.
- Must be results oriented,enthusiastic and a strong team player
- Must beable to prioritize, organize and beself-efficient.
- Computer experience atintermediate to advanced level is mandatory with knowledge ofWindows 2003 (Excel, PowerPoint and Word, Access) Opera Sales& Catering and Meeting Matrix
- Must beflexible in terms of working hours especially during peakperiods.
- Must possess good Sales skills, guestservice skills, professional presentation and sophisticatedcommunication skills.
- Proficient in Englishlanguage (Verbal and written), second language is anasset.
