Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Food Preparation Specialist to join our culinary team at Marriott International. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking food, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
- Food Safety and Quality: Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients, and prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards.
- Cooking and Presentation: Prepare and cook food according to presentation standards and food preparation checklist, and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
- Food Service: Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles, and check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment, and set up and break down work station.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
