Job Title: Commis I

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commis I to join our Culinary team at AccorHotel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of our culinary offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of our culinary offerings.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory lists for your station.
  • Fulfill the role of a chef when absent from another station.
  • Ensure that standard recipes and plating guides are followed at all times.
  • Provide the Executive Sous Chef with a daily market list and control the quality and quantity of goods received.
  • Assist and propose special food promotions and events to the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef.
  • Interact and communicate with Outlet Supervisors on a daily basis.
  • Control food wastage without compromising on food quality.
  • Recommend changes in systems and procedures to increase efficiency and improve service levels.
  • Maintain records and documentation as per operational control requirements.
  • Maintain excellent intradepartmental communication.
  • Perform as per Operational Standards.
  • Proper grooming at all times.
  • Attend training classes as per schedule.
  • Show fullest cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.
  • Be aware of daily activities and have product knowledge of all hotel facilities.
  • Check the quantity and quality of food items and the presence of food labels during service time.
  • Attend communication meetings of your department.
  • Check equipment at the end of your shift and communicate information to the next shift or supervisor.
  • Share your skills and knowledge with all employees.
  • Apply HACCP as per the Hotel Standard.
  • Help guests with explaining dishes and recommend food specialties and promotions if available.
  • Refill buffets at all times and maintain food quality.
  • Check the standard and quality of food that leaves the kitchen.

Qualifications: Diploma or degree in vocational hospitality or 1 year of experience in a 5-star hotel.
