Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Event and External Communications Manager to lead our corporate events and external communications efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing communication plans for events, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, and managing event logistics and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Planning and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans for corporate events, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with corporate goals.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with internal teams, such as marketing and public relations, and external partners, including vendors and suppliers, to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Event Logistics and Budgeting: Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audiovisual equipment, and develop and manage event budgets.
  • Content Creation: Create engaging content for event promotions, including press releases, social media posts, and email invitations.
  • Message Development: Develop key messages and talking points for events, ensuring consistency with corporate messaging.
  • Media Relations: Build relationships with media contacts and draft and distribute media materials, including press releases and media kits.
  • Strategy and Analysis: Track and analyze communication strategies and event outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Review and improve procedures and policies related to event planning and execution.
  • Team Leadership: Promote creativity, innovation, and corporate sustainability within the team, ensuring that practices meet corporate excellence standards.
  • Confidentiality and Security: Uphold company confidentiality, privacy, security, and safety standards, ensuring the protection of company assets and sensitive information.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in event management, with 3 years in a leading role, and minimum 2 years in external communications.
  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience in organizing events related to power, energy, or utilities, in either an in-house or agency-based role.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and project management skills, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, and proficiency in communication and marketing tools, including social media platforms and event management software.
