The Head of Data MENAT supports all three pillars of the strategy with oversight for all entities across the HSBC MENAT region.

In this role, you will be:

- Influencing the creation of all group data strategy, standards, policies and services, ensuring market needs are reflected, and that the implementation will deliver demonstrable benefits at entity level
- Defining and driving implementation and monitoring of the data strategy, standards and policies across all of the markets within MENAT; a strategy that reflects Group data policies and frameworks, local business needs, and regulatory requirements
- Responsible for working with the MENAT Board, Exco and GB / GFs to improve data control effectiveness across all of the markets in the HSBC MENAT region
- Ensuring appropriate regulatory engagement relating to data, to enable a forward view of all regulations / emerging and where possible influence the development of these
- Ensuring appropriate governance including forums to meet all group and local requirements and ensuring that all levels of MENAT management are fully briefed to enable them to discharge their accountabilities.
- Partnering and collaborating with members of the Exco and management team including Chief Information Officer and Chief Operating Officer to maximise effectiveness of the combined teams Build a community of data professionals and data enthusiasts across the MENAT region, to influence the outcomes for data governance, quality, and data related project initiatives to support the data strategy and unlock business outcomes using data
- Leading and driving data literacy programs across MENAT aligned to, and proactively utilizing materials from, Group DAO and the other markets
- Ensuring that the markets have access to and know how to leverage all of the Group DAO services including those related to BI and ESG to maximise efficiency within market and value to the region and group
- Sharing best practice from other markets across all the MENAT markets to drive-data driven cultural change initiatives and maximise effectiveness and efficiencies of the teams
Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

- ** **Experience running data management programs
- MENAT regional experience is advantageous
- Deep knowledge of data management practices
- Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services business processes and resultant information needs: client, risk / regulatory / finance, etc
- Active industry knowledge of the current state of data management trends
- Track-record of developing and implementing strategy for growing evolving a new capability
- Track-record of leading multi-disciplined teams to deliver exceptional customer service and value
- Project/Programme Management skills (project planning and tracking; Issue identification and management; project status reporting)
- Demonstrated knowledge of data structure, data systems/tools and related software and data management policies and practices in a complex organizational environment
- Proven record of making sound judgments, effective leadership, including the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities; building teams and consensus; getting things done through others not directly under your supervision; working ethically and with integrity
- Proven record of effective management, including planning and decision-making, identifying priorities and bringing projects to successful completion in a timely manner; and maintaining a focus on high standards and quality
- Bachelor’s degree is essential to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit
