As they embark on this exciting journey, they are looking for a visionary a General Manager to lead the platform's development, shape the strategy, and set up the business operationally and commercially.

As General Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and growing the B2B marketplace platform catering specifically to FMCG products to start with. You will play a pivotal role in defining the strategic direction, overseeing platform development, and driving business growth. Your leadership and vision will be instrumental in creating a thriving B2B ecosystem that adds value to our customers and partners in the FMCG space.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Market Insights and Strategy**:

- Conduct in-depth market research to identify opportunities, challenges, competitive landscapes, and trends.
- Develop a clear and innovative marketplace strategy tailored to the specific needs and dynamics of the industry.

**Platform Development**:

- Lead the development and deployment of the B2B digital marketplace platform.
- Define and prioritise platform features, functionality, and user experience to cater to FMCG stakeholders effectively.

**Business Development and Partnerships**:

- Identify, negotiate, and establish strategic partnerships with key manufacturers, distributors, partners, and service providers.
- Build and nurture relationships with industry-specific stakeholders to drive platform adoption and growth.

**Commercial Strategy and Growth**:

- Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion within the market.
- Identify new business opportunities, pricing models, and revenue streams tailored to the unique needs of the sector.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedbacks to make data-driven decisions that enhance the commercial success of the platform.

**Business Setup and Team Leadership**:

- Build and lead a high-performing team specialised in FMCG digital marketplace operations, fostering a culture of improvement, collaboration, and excellence.
- Set clear goals and provide guidance to achieve business objectives.
- Manage a team of functional heads and ensure that all departments are meeting their goals and objectives.
- Set up, oversee, and manage all aspects of the marketplace operations, including sales, marketing, business development, finance, procurement, supply chain, logistics, distribution, and customer service.

**Financial Management**:

- Develop and manage budgets for operations, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve financial targets.
- Monitor and report on financial performance and make decisions to optimise results.
- Lead and oversee financial management including stakeholder engagement, reporting, and obtaining necessary approvals to align financial strategies with business goals.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field (Executive MBA preferred).
- Proven experience in B2B digital marketplace development and management, with a strong focus on the FMCG industry is essential.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies within the industry.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of the FMCG industry, its supply chain, and distribution dynamics.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on business growth.
