About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Marketplace Business Development Manager to join our team at CHALHOUB Group. As a key member of our e-commerce organization, you will be responsible for driving commercial strategies to accelerate marketplaces for our partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Strategy Development: Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive growth and revenue for our marketplaces.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Set financial targets, budgets, and incentives to support key partners and drive business growth.
  • Marketplace Management: Oversee several marketplace e-commerce channels, responsible for product/channel mix and optimization between marketplaces on a weekly basis.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Plan weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts for channels as well as item and category projections for inventory management.
  • Partner Management: Manage the relationship with key partners, including account expectations, forecast, and individual account growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with As is Business team, CRM, and digital marketing on acquisition and retention to grow our share of business.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Define a marketing calendar including promotions and product launches to monetize the marketplace.
  • Business Review and Analysis: Lead monthly business reviews with key partners, identifying growth opportunities and benchmarking and improving the UX in partnership with the product team.
  • Initiative Prioritization: Prioritize initiatives based on expected ROI and shape the product roadmap.
  • Culture and Ambassadorship: Be a positive ambassador of the broader e-commerce organization and culture.
Requirements
  • Commercial Knowledge: Preferred strong connections in the retail and beauty industry, commercial knowledge, including understanding margins, contracts, and merchant/brand relationships.
  • Technical Experience: Technical experience with marketplace software, specifically Mirakl and P&L ownership experience.
  • Networking and Relationship-Building: Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercial Negotiations: Ability to handle commercial negotiations.
  • Marketplace Knowledge: Knowledge of logistics, customer service, and legal constraints within a marketplace environment.
