- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Experience in a Linux-based environment, gained through university studies or work experience.
- Linux Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Linux, including installation, troubleshooting, and basic configuration of recent Ubuntu Desktop releases.
- Desktop Linux Usage: Familiarity with basic desktop Linux usage, including desktop tools, file management, and Internet connectivity.
- Troubleshooting: Basic troubleshooting skills, including collecting logs and fine-tuning configuration files.
- Installation and Recovery: Ability to safely install, uninstall, reinstall, and repartition machines running Ubuntu Linux, and recover broken installations.
- Productivity Tools: Familiarity with Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Applications, and Single Sign-On.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to learn quickly, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and handle the pressure of a customer-facing role.
- Programming Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, C, C++, or Go.
- Customer Support Experience: Previous experience in customer support, preferably in a technical role.
