Logistics Officer for Site Construction with PMC Expertise

Position Overview:

Talent Pal is seeking a skilled Logistics Officer to oversee site logistics in the construction sector, specifically for residential projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management consultancy (PMC) and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of logistics operations within construction environments.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in managing logistics for residential villa projects within a PMC framework is essential.
  • Experience working in the UAE is required, with a preference for candidates familiar with the local market.

Desirable Certifications:

  • Recognized safety training certifications such as CSSS, SMSTS, or SSSTS.
  • First Aid certification, Lifting Supervisor Certification, and Traffic Management qualifications.
  • Membership in relevant professional institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Management:

  • Facilitate the effective delivery of site logistics by coordinating with logistics management contractors.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient movement of personnel, equipment, and materials across the site.
  • Assist in the strategic planning of haul routes, laydown areas, and access points to optimize workflow and minimize disruptions.
  • Establish a secure and well-organized site through regular logistics meetings and oversight.
  • Manage workers' accommodations efficiently and develop comprehensive logistics processes and procedures.
  • Implement supply chain management strategies, including movement plans and forecasting.
  • Ensure that logistics operations do not hinder project timelines.
  • Create a site-specific safety manual and maintain an updated Site Emergency Plan.
  • Ensure effective communication of logistics information across the site.
  • Plan for appropriate signage in alignment with corporate branding.
  • Manage public access routes and ensure smooth access to facilities.
  • Develop a robust security management system to support logistics operations.

Permitting and Planning:

  • Oversee the acquisition of necessary permits for seamless logistics operations.
  • Create detailed monthly graphical timelines to illustrate logistics support for plot and infrastructure activities.
  • Review weekly plans to ensure accuracy and coordination among stakeholders.

Risk Management:

  • Collaborate with the logistics contractor to develop a comprehensive risk register and implement mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Ensure effective communication and coordination among all program consultants and stakeholders involved in logistics.

Reporting and Assurance:

  • Provide weekly updates through detailed logistics dashboards.
  • Review and report on the status of logistics contractor self-audits, including quality assurance, safety, and environmental compliance.
