Logistics Coordinator for Site Construction Projects

Position Overview:

Talent Pal is seeking a dedicated Logistics Officer with a strong background in site construction logistics, particularly within residential villa projects. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working in a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in managing logistics for residential villa projects as part of a PMC team is essential.
  • Experience in the UAE market is required, with a preference for candidates familiar with the Abu Dhabi region.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CSCS, SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid, Lifting Supervisor, and Traffic Management are advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Management:

  • Facilitate the effective delivery of site logistics by overseeing the procurement of a site logistics management contractor.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient movement of personnel, equipment, and materials across the site.
  • Assist in the strategic planning of haul roads, laydown areas, and access points to minimize disruptions.
  • Establish a secure and well-maintained site through regular logistics meetings.
  • Manage workers' accommodation efficiently and orderly.
  • Develop comprehensive processes, procedures, and induction programs.
  • Implement supply chain management and movement plans with foresight.
  • Ensure logistics operations do not hinder project timelines.
  • Create a site-specific safety manual with adequate first aid provisions.
  • Maintain and update the Site Emergency Plan regularly.
  • Ensure effective communication of information across the site.
  • Plan for appropriate signage in accordance with corporate branding.
  • Manage special access routes for public and site-related activities.
  • Develop a robust security management system to support all logistics operations.

Permitting:

  • Oversee the logistics contractor's acquisition of all necessary permits for seamless operations.

Planning:

  • Create detailed monthly graphical timelines illustrating plot and infrastructure activities, ensuring logistics support is aligned.

Risk Management:

  • Review and coordinate a detailed risk register developed by the logistics contractor, ensuring mitigation plans are in place.

Interface Coordination:

  • Provide logistical coordination among all program consultants and stakeholders.
  • Support plot activities concerning external access and related influences.

Reporting:

  • Generate weekly reports through detailed logistics dashboards.

Quality Assurance:

  • Review and report on the status of logistics contractor self-audits covering quality, safety, environmental, and welfare aspects.
