Job Description

As a Senior Pharmacist at American Hospital Dubai, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and medication management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality and Accuracy: Maintain a high level of quality and accuracy in all aspects of pharmacy operations, including medication ordering, dispensing, and patient counseling.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in the departmental Quality Improvement Program, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Patient Relations: Foster positive relationships with patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Medication Management: Review physician orders and prescriptions to ensure appropriateness of drug therapy, and input medication orders into the Pharmacy Patient Medication Profile.
  • Drug Safety: Monitor patient medication profiles to prevent drug interactions, allergic reactions, and adverse effects.
  • Leadership: Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff, to ensure effective performance of assigned duties.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels of controlled medications and ensure proper records of all scheduled medications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to DHA rules and regulations to maintain the highest standards of care and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality control checks and inventory management to ensure the pharmacy is maintained in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as a strong commitment to quality and patient safety.
