Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hostess to join our team at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. As a Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and will be responsible for ensuring that they have a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Concept and Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of our hotel's concept, food and beverage offerings, including promotions, and be able to clearly explain these to our guests.
  • Guest Service: Display exceptional customer service skills and ensure that all guest details and requests are accurately registered and communicated.
  • Reservations Management: Take reservations by phone, internet booking applications, and in person, and update our reservations system accordingly.
  • Reservations Confirmation: Reconfirm all reservations by phone or email at the set time standard and schedule reservations and seating arrangements with management prior to service period.
  • Table Management: Constantly update the reservations system with accurate table counts and ensure that all available tables are updated and reinstated as soon as possible.
  • Guest Welcome and Escort: Welcome and escort patrons with the overall objective of delighting and satisfying each and every guest, and assist and direct them to other destinations within the hotel as needed.
  • Menu Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy of all menus, including current offerings, spelling, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Beverage Service: Recommend and upsell initial beverage offerings as per service sequence and forward orders directly to the waiter in the respective station.
  • Billing and Cashiering: Perform any tasks related to billing according to hotel standards and cashiering policies if required.
  • Guest Complaints: Attend to any complaints or comments given by guests and refer matters to the Outlet Manager if no resolution can be found.
