About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Trust Secretary to join our team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective governance and administration of our trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Governance
    • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the trust's leadership team on governance matters.
    • Develop and implement effective governance frameworks and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify and mitigate risks to the trust.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including directors, governors, staff, and external partners.
    • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure timely and accurate information is shared with stakeholders.
  • Administrative and Operational Support
    • Provide administrative support to the trust's leadership team, including preparing meeting materials and taking minutes.
    • Manage and maintain accurate records and databases to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Personal and Professional Development
    • Develop and implement a personal development plan to enhance your skills and knowledge in governance, leadership, and administration.
    • Stay up-to-date with best practices and regulatory requirements in governance and administration.

Requirements

  • Education and Qualifications
    • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Proven experience in governance, leadership, and administration in a healthcare or related setting.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
