**UAE Country Manager Job Description**

Offering a dynamic working environment and prospects to progress quickly within the industry; a regional freight forwarder are currently looking for a **Country Manager** to lead their UAE branch.

From a forwarding / Liner background and working as part of a successful team, the new CM will be responsible for the fiscal and operational oversight, leadership, direction and overall management to provide quality service, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency that ensures growth and profitability goals.

**SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT**
- Accountable for creating strategic vision for the business that stems from global group's strengths and builds on its competitive advantages.
- Overall Responsibility for all business development, sales, marketing and customer /business retention - both key and non-key customers across UAE.
- Allocating and managing sales resources optimally.
- Identify/Develop new business opportunities to ensure consistent revenue growth in the country.
- Build strong, collaborative and value-adding relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
- Effectively engaging with clients, reviewing strategic initiatives & acting as final client escalation point.
- Review analysis of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine progress

toward stated business development goals and objectives.

**ORGANISATIONAL MANAGEMENT**
- Reporting directly into Parent Company and assuming overall Leadership and responsibility for UAE P&L
- Provide leadership and direction in line with the organizational goals
- Motivate, coach and mentor UAE team to ensure maximum productivity and development of staff to their full potential
- Responsible for selection and recruitment, training and development, performance management, and leadership
- Ensure operational excellence without deviation from company policies and procedures.
- Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
- Maintain and grow business volume and profitability in the organisation whilst driving productivity and efficiency gains.
- Lead, direct and manage in the overall governance of the team that all functions execute service agreements at, or above the customer’s expectations.
- Install a sense of personal involvement and commitment to the strategic vision throughout the team in UAE.
- Achieve expected / laid down standards of operational, financial and administrative performance throughout the UAE organization.
- Maintain standards of performance in terms of criteria such as customer services, service

quality, technological leadership, market share and financial measures that will meet

expectations of the investors, the Consumers, and all other stake holders.
- Guide and assist Global leadership by developing business plans, operations analysis, branch

improvement plans, strategic planning initiatives, personnel development, and training, and

product specific presentations.
- Develop and execute policies, plans and programs to meet anticipated organizational needs

in the areas of functional responsibility and ensure compliance with corporate policies and

guidelines and UAE regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that all established international procedures, plans and programs for the Company

are understood and implemented within country to achieve international revenue and profit

goals.
- Ensure quality of service provided as per agreed benchmarks
- Brand Value - differentiation with competition and drive brand promotion
- Marketing - Use local market intel to create and drive client/ business strategy
- Development and implementation of cost savings initiatives.
- Service Delivery initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction

**MANAGEMENT OF OUTSOURCED TASKS**
- Source, select and agree terms with local vendors and 3rd party providers as per business requirements
- Ensure efficient back-office processes to meet customer needs

**ORGANIZATION AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT**
- Drive performance culture through implementing local initiatives, appraisals and giving feedback to direct reports.
- Retention and development of talent through training and development.
- Identify/recommend training needs for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
- Organizational Development - succession plan, leadership development.
- Headcount and productivity improvement.
- Maintain high degree of employee engagement.
- Living and ensuring that all team members live by company values.

**ORGANISATIONAL RESULTS**
- Maintain a cost-efficient organisation, keep expenses within/below budget.
- Achieve cost /P&L set targets.
- Monitor and ensure issues of compliances, both internal, regulatory & statutory.
- Credit control and Cost recovery/Agency income.
- Risk Management. Initiatives to ensure corporate safety and compliance.
- Co-ordination with/ Representation at local bodies/associations/authorities.
- General office administration/HR & policy issues, discipline etc.
