**Job Description**:
Our Sharjah office, has an opening for a:
**Commercial Manager**

The purpose of this position is to manage the commercial function for the assigned area and to retain existing and win new business in line with the Group Business Plan. The role is reporting to the Regional Commercial Director MEIS. The position is based in the Sharjah office, and it will require frequent travel in the region.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and execute approved annual commercial plans, strategies & targets for assigned area.
- Identify and drive new business opportunities (short
- and long-term growth opportunities).
- Ensure SL's pre-qualification on the bid list of companies as defined in the Group Business Plan.
- Conduct market and operational analysis during the "prepare for tender" phase and submit the bid strategy.
- Lead and manage tender processes to prepare and finalize bids for submission.
- Draft Board memos to obtain approval for bid submission.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients and other relevant parties.
- Promote SL's portfolio to secure business through regular contact with existing and potential clients.
- Ensure contractual rate escalations and/or variations are executed.
- Provide advice on potential joint venture partners.
- Report on client visits, meetings, and developments in the CRM system.
- Identify, execute, and manage key promotional activities.
- Produce timely Commercial reports and Business Intelligence information.

**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Bachelor’s degree at a maritime academy or university level qualifications.
- Relevant commercial management experience within the maritime industry is essential.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of analyzing tenders and bid preparation.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience in the maritime industry.
- Developed managerial competences and a good eye for accuracy in administration.
- Pro-active work approach and commercially savvy.
- Fluency in English is required with Arabic as an advantage.
- Willing to travel on a regular basis within the Middle East region.
- Experience with working with multinational and multicultural staff.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, optimistic, hands-on and the ability to manage stress.
