Roles and responsibilities

As the Assistant Manager, Lounge forour Plato's Cafe in Atlantis The Palm, you will beresponsible for establishing and maintaining excellent guestservice and assisting the Manager in managing all areas of fullservice within the restaurant, including but not limited totraining and retaining an excellent team, assisting in managing theteam, delivering outstanding hospitality, food cost, labor cost,shared P&L responsibility, and running shifts. You willalso play a crucial part in helping to teach and provide guidancefor the team, as well as sanitation, safety and cleanliness, whilstalso adhering to all company policies andprocedures.

Other key parts of this role willin include driving service excellence and guest satisfaction daily,and being fully aware of the restaurant order of service andstandards, and provide support to the team with service to ensurethe guest's needs are understood and fulfilled. You willalso assist in setting guidelines and standards and ensure they aremaintained, whilst also ensuring that all front of house equipmentis kept clean and in excellent working condition through personalinspection and by following the restaurant maintenanceprogram.

AboutYou

The ideal candidate musthave a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similarrole, working within a luxury restaurant or lobby lounge, within a5* hotel or similar. You will have experience assisting in handlingP&L responsibilities and have assisted in managing a teamof F&B professionals within a similarenvironment.

You will also have a firmunderstanding of a lobby lounge environment and have a proven trackrecords of working within this environment, understanding thecustomer experience and prioritising their needs to meet thecompany service standards.

    • Understandingof cost control, profit margins, and budgeting to help ensure thelounge remains profitable.
    • Experience inhandling cash, making financial transactions, and generating salesreports.

  • Knowledgeof Beverages and FoodService:

    • Goodunderstanding of bar and food menus, including specialty drinks,wines, and snacks typically served in alounge.
    • Ability to oversee the preparation andpresentation of drinks and snacks in line with customerexpectations.

  • Attentionto Detail:

    • Ability tomonitor the quality of service and cleanliness in thelounge.
    • Ensuring that all procedures, fromservice standards to safety protocols, are followed to theletter.

  • FlexibilityandAdaptability:

    • Abilityto adapt to changing conditions, such as adjusting staffing levelsduring busy periods or handling unexpected customerissues.

  • Healthand SafetyKnowledge:

    • Knowledge ofhealth, safety, and hygiene standards in the food and beverageindustry.
    • Familiarity with alcohol serviceregulations and age verificationlaws.
