Accountable To

The Fleet Manager will oversee all operations and technical matters relating to managerial aspects of the SOS fleet.

Working closely with the vessels' Masters, OIM and HODs, and Technical/ Operations managers/ Team


The focal point of contact to ensure any works are carried out to the correct classification standards, in line with SOS operational schedule and by a suitable third party.

Responsible for


Communicate SAFEEN Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and procedures to ensure that all technical and other staff understand current policies and practice requirements.

Ensure fleet vessels are operated to and comply with SAFEEN health, safety, environmental and quality standards and processes.

Working Relationship


Take corrective actions to address any safety issues or risks arising from fleet operations and restore safe working conditions where applicable.


Develop, amend, revise or re-issue operational procedures as necessary to support the development of improved safety culture and safety/environmental performance.

Manage team reporting to Fleet Manager
Objectives and Role Profile


Responsible for the most cost-effective and efficient operation of the SOS fleet, according to each vessel's capabilities, the terms and conditions of their charter-parties (if any) and the instructions of the Ship-owner.

To ensure that the vessels are ready in all aspects and observe and closely monitor the vessels' operational efficiency


Responsible for establishing operation key performance indicators (KPI) for monitoring and auditing the performance of Operation and Technical departments and the appointed Vessels' management company.


  • Key Tasks and Performance Indicators


To facilitate preparation work for major projects, repairs, conversions, dry docking by supervising preparations of proper job specifications, collect and evaluate quotations and tenders, finalize opinions of prospective contractor(s) and seek final approval from the top management.


To liaise with contractors, while works are in progress, to ensure that all requirements are followed correctly and according to the set budget and timetable.

To approve final invoices for any repair work carried out.


To liaise with other departments within the company to ensure the smooth operation and implementation of the Company Management System.

Qualifications/Experience/Competencies

Degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Marine Discipline

Sailing Experience (Preferably on OSVs) 3-5 years.
