Global Trade and Receivables Finance (GTRF) comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs.

Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia.

Role Overview:


As a member of the sales team the role holder is expected to drive business growth, understand the clients evolving business requirements and provide need based compliant solutions.

The role holder is also expected to provide technical expertise to relationship managers, assisting in structuring of bespoke open account solutions and ensuring a high quality customer experience.


Principal responsibilities:

  • Manage a client portfolio in order to maintain existing and generate new relationships for the business within the HSBC Risk and product frameworks
  • Actively contribute to the GTRF pipeline and attrition management to ensure accuracy in growth forecasts
  • Maintain close liaison with key stakeholders so as to provide input into the strategic direction of the business and the functionality and launch of new products and services
  • Drive revenue growth through working capital management products and services to maximize commercial profitability and relationship depth.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with clients proactively acting on direct customer feedback, market surveys and client engagement programmes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the country wholesale team, Regional GTRF and the various Risk functions to develop an effective working relationship
  • Develop an appropriate calling plan to efficiently and effectively meet the clients' needs
Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of global trade finance, structured trade products and techniques, market & market trends, competitive environment and regulatory environment.
  • Sales experience at a senior level including dealing with senior executives plus a proven sales record.
  • Strong sales, interpersonal, communications, leadership, negotiation, analytical, presentation and decision making skills.
  • Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs through matching a broad range of products and services and having delivered creative and flexible customer solutions
  • Strong credit assessment skills, particularly with regards to more complex and structured facilities
  • Extensive understanding of risk associated with Financial Crime compliance (Sanctions / AML etc).
  • Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationship with internal and external stakeholders and proven team management.
  • Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent range of communication skills including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentations
  • Strong analytical skills
