Position:

Summary:

As a Commercial Project Officer - Accounts, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial aspects of commercial projects within the organization.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage and monitor the financial transactions and accounting processes related to commercial projects. You will collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful financial execution of projects. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Review project budgets and financial plans, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Monitor project expenses, revenue, and cash flow to ensure projects stay within budget and financial objectives are met.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for project stakeholders, management, and clients.

Accounting and Bookkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records for all commercial projects.
  • Process and verify invoices, expenses, and financial transactions related to the projects.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company financial policies.

Project Billing:

  • Coordinate with project managers to generate accurate and timely invoices for clients.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and manage accounts receivable for the projects.
  • Address billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis to identify potential costsaving opportunities and improve project profitability.
  • Assist in evaluating project performance metrics and profitability ratios.
  • Participate in financial review meetings and provide insights to project stakeholders.

Contract Management:

  • Collaborate with the legal team to review and understand project contracts, payment terms, and financial clauses.
  • Ensure financial compliance with contractual obligations and assist in contract negotiation when necessary.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget actuals, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.

Compliance and Audit:

  • Support internal and external audits related to commercial projects.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and policies.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting and financial processes.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project accounting, financial management, or a similar role.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with commercial project contracts and billing processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities.
