Position Overview
As the Area Manager for Priority Banking at Emirates NBD, your primary responsibility will be
to oversee a designated geographical area encompassing various clusters. Your role will involve managing the overall profitability of the area, ensuring that budgeted business volumes and profit and loss targets are met. You will lead a team of 30-40 Relationship Managers (RMs) and provide essential guidance and support to Unit Managers to achieve optimal results.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement a comprehensive retail payment strategy that aligns with the bank's overarching objectives and market dynamics.
- Accountable for area-wide revenue and profit and loss targets, along with other critical performance indicators, such as proactive calling and cross-sell ratios.
- Evaluate the activity levels of RMs within each area through regular reviews.
- Monitor financial metrics, including deposits and investments, as well as non-financial metrics like new-to-bank customers and proactive calling efforts.
- Collaborate with other departments to capitalize on opportunities across various segments, including Private Banking, SME, RM Retail, Corporate Banking, and Brokerage.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all policies related to operational risk, sales processes, and credit policy, ensuring compliance.
- Stay informed about all policies and procedures regarding credit lending, anti-money laundering measures, and Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols.
- Actively contribute to the development of the RM and Unit Manager teams within the assigned area.
- Engage in regular performance discussions with Unit Managers regarding their unit's performance.
- Keep abreast of market trends, customer preferences, and new product offerings, while consistently monitoring competitor activities.
Required Skills and Experience
- A University Degree in Business or Finance; an MBA is preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in a sales role within the Financial Services or Banking sector.
- 5+ years of experience across various Banking domains, such as Retail and Wealth Management.
- Demonstrated strong business acumen and exceptional analytical skills, particularly in financial analysis.
