About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our team at ATRIBS METSCON GROUP. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and visitors, as well as maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  2. Develop and implement effective safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
  3. Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols and best practices.
  4. Investigate accidents and incidents to identify causes and implement preventive measures.
  5. Conduct regular safety audits and reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of safety procedures and policies.
  6. Provide guidance and advice to management on safety-related matters and recommend improvements.
  7. Implement initiatives to raise safety awareness and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  8. Verify that employees and contractors are following safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  9. Implement and manage a safety reporting system to encourage employees to report potential hazards or incidents.
  10. Participate in safety meetings to stay informed, provide insights, and contribute to safety improvements.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership capability.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Safety, or Environmental.
  • Ten (10) years of professional safety experience in industrial operation or construction.
  • Experience in preparing a Risk Assessment and strong knowledge of requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • NEBOSH International or National General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health or CSP/CRSP/CMIOSH/IDipNEBOSH or equivalent and Local/International equivalent qualification.
  • Emergency Management Certification, Certified CPR AED, and First Aiders. Certified basic Fire Fighters.
  • Completed and attended training on Risk Assessment and Local/International equivalent qualification.
  • Incumbents should have a broad general technical and business background.
  • Professional registration may also be required.
  • Should be registered under the authority.
  • Must have the ability to manage projects, interface with clients, and enjoy being hands-on technically in the project.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong eye for detail coupled with a methodical and organized approach.
