About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Technical Director to join our Client Experience Team at WSP Global Inc. This is a key leadership role that will drive an enhanced focus towards our aspiration to become a more Client-centric business.

The successful candidate will have a strong delivery and technical understanding, with the ability to enhance our output to our Clients. With a particular focus on Work Winning, Client engagement, and Prospect to Project activities, this role requires someone who can encapsulate the essence of our values and brand in all undertakings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working with business leaders to drive the Client and Technical Expertise pillars.
  • Client Portfolio Management – Working with Client Account Leads across the business to enhance Client Engagement throughout the project life cycle.
  • Bidding – driving improvements in our tendering outputs across the business, ensuring a strong technical focus.
  • Prospect to Project Handover - Driving a clear and consistent process – ensuring that projects are set up correctly, creating a clear baseline, capturing governance.
  • Regional and Sector Focus – Supporting our business leaders deliver their region specific and sector specific strategic focus areas.
  • One WSP – Driving a 'One WSP' approach through all activities by understanding our business, capabilities and strategies, and enhancing cross-BU engagement.
Requirements
  • A degree in engineering or a closely related field. Plus 10-15 years of experience in our industry.
  • Preferably already have a strong network in the industry and / or the Built Environment.
  • Strong communication abilities, able to articulate complex ideas in a creative manner and able to influence or persuade others.
  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistent and goal-oriented.
  • Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes with a commitment to internal and external client service.
  • Ability to travel, as needed.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
