Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Direct the completion of shift, daily, weekly, and monthly checks to ensure optimal performance and compliance with environmental limits and permits.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Maintain a safe working environment, approve equipment removal for maintenance, and issue safety permits in accordance with plant procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Train and manage a motivated workforce, ensuring they are cross-trained, technically capable, and flexible in skills.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to injuries or accidents, and take appropriate safe action to prevent equipment damage or injury to personnel.
  • Maintenance and Projects: Coordinate maintenance activities, troubleshoot plant operational issues, and lead projects as determined by the Operations Manager.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain administrative records on personnel, and ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3 years or more of supervisory experience in power or resource recovery plant operations.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills: Demonstrated hands-on supervisory experience working with high-performing teams, high-pressure boilers, and electric generation equipment.
  • Communication: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general administrative periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations. Ability to write reports and correspondence, and effectively present information to groups of managers and subordinates.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret graphs.
Work Schedule

Shift Supervisors work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that alternates between days and nights. Ability to work overtime is required.
