The Role

As the Country Director for the Philippines, you will be responsible for spearheading Taptap Send's expansion among the diaspora in key remittance markets, initially focusing on the US and Canada.

You will oversee all facets of growth in these regions, including strategies for customer acquisition and retention, pricing models, user research, product excellence, customer satisfaction, and team development. Your mindset will be one of ownership, with a keen focus on enhancing the experience for individual users while also refining scalable growth strategies and processes.

You will hold P&L accountability, ensuring that growth and profitability targets for the Philippines are met. Your goal will be to position Taptap Send as the premier service for remittances to the Philippines, while representing the country both internally and externally. Reporting directly to the Regional Director for Asia, you will build and lead a team of growth managers in sending markets, offering a chance to join a high-growth startup and positively impact the communities we serve.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive vision, strategy, and execution plan for the Philippines and all sending markets.
  • Lead the local team to implement plans within collaboratively established timelines.
  • Manage all aspects of growth across sending countries, including customer acquisition and retention strategies, pricing, user research, product quality, customer experience, and team development.
  • Provide regular updates to the executive leadership team on progress, insights, and requirements, utilizing a data-driven approach.
  • Innovate to unlock growth, enhance profitability, and elevate brand visibility.
  • Recruit, motivate, and retain top-tier, diverse talent.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders across various departments.
  • Establish trust-based relationships with diaspora communities and commercial partners to enhance brand recognition and drive growth.
  • Analyze and interpret growth, operational, and financial metrics to refine execution.
  • Recommend enhancements to product experience based on market and customer insights.

Requirements
  • Preference for candidates based in the UAE.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed to engage with customers, partners, and team members.
  • Extensive knowledge and connections within the Philippines diaspora.
  • Advanced skills in stakeholder management.
  • Experience in building, developing, and leading teams.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making; familiarity with data analysis tools is advantageous.
  • 7 to 15 years of experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments such as startups, operations, consulting, or finance.
  • A proactive ownership mindset, dedicated to enhancing user experiences and optimizing growth strategies.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree.
  • Fluency in English and Tagalog; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
