Job Description

Apt Resources | Recruitment Specialists is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commis 3 to join our team in the kitchen. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare, cook, and serve food delegated as your responsibility, ensuring the highest possible quality is maintained and that agreed standards for food preparation and presentation are met at all times under guidance from a senior chef.
  • Stock Management: Monitor stock movement and be responsible for ordering on your section, ensuring that food costs are minimized and kitchen standards are met.
  • Health and Safety: Remove any hazards and make safe any defects in the kitchen or its equipment, and report any problems to a senior chef.
  • Personal Hygiene and Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, clean uniform, and overall camaraderie.
  • Menu Planning and Stock Control: Have an understanding of menu planning, the implementation of stock controls, the importance of good stock management, and how this enables the kitchen to meet gross profit.
  • Opening and Closing Procedures: Be familiar with the opening and closing procedures of the kitchen and carry them out as rotated.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to be punctual for work, report directly to the manager on duty on arrival in the kitchen, and adhere to company procedures in regards to temperature checks, food labeling and dating, cleaning schedules, and hygiene regulations at all times.
