Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a Safe Working Environment: Ensure all personnel follow policies and procedures, and work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Approve Equipment Maintenance: Approve requests for removing equipment from service, ensure proper clearance and tagging, and issue safety permits.
  • Environmental Compliance: Maintain the plant within all environmental limits and permits.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to injuries or accidents.
  • Shift Operations: Direct the completion of shift, daily, weekly, and monthly checks.
  • Operational Performance: Maximize operational performance of all aspects of the facility.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot plant operational issues.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Workforce Development: Train and manage a motivated, flexible, and technically capable workforce.
  • Administrative Records: Maintain administrative records on personnel.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3 years or more of supervisory experience in power or resource recovery plant operations.
  • Education: HS/GED diploma required.
  • Skills: Demonstrated hands-on supervisory experience working with high performing teams, high pressure boilers, and electric generation equipment.
  • Communication: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general administrative periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Writing: Ability to write reports and correspondence, and effectively present information to groups of managers and subordinates.
  • Mathematics: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Initiative: Ability to take appropriate safe action on his/her own initiative to prevent equipment damage or injury to personnel during emergencies or unusual situations.
