**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef/ Assistant Chef to join our team at La Luna Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating new dishes, minimizing waste, and managing all aspects of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new menu items and recipes to enhance the dining experience
- Conduct regular inventory and stock checks to ensure optimal product ordering and storage
- Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and execute menu changes and promotions
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality products
- Monitor and control food costs to achieve budget targets
- Stay up-to-date with culinary trends and techniques to continuously improve the dining experience
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a fine dining restaurant, preferably in Italian cuisine
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a culinary arts degree preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
