The Logistics Operations Director will oversee all aspects of import operations, including ocean freight, air freight, and customs brokerage. This role is crucial in developing and enforcing standard operating procedures while ensuring adherence to operational performance metrics to enhance workflow efficiency. The director will also provide support to back-office operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in CargoWise software.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in leading a team of at least 5 individuals.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing ocean and air freight operations.
  • Exhibit 5 years of pricing experience across ocean, air, intermodal, and domestic trucking sectors.

Preferred Background:

  • 10 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of air and ocean import processes.
  • Strong understanding of customs brokerage operations.
  • Ability to support a back-office team of 40 staff members.
  • Proven staff management and training capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. transportation market, including rail and port operations.
  • Experience collaborating with a global network of offices and agents.
  • Established track record in developing standard operating procedures and performance metrics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in international import freight forwarding.
  • Strong client management skills, including payment processing and problem resolution.
