As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and presentation, while ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare, cook, and serve food to the highest possible quality, adhering to agreed standards for food preparation and presentation.
  • Stock Management: Monitor stock movement and be responsible for ordering on your section, ensuring that food costs are minimized and kitchen standards are maintained.
  • Health and Safety: Remove any hazards and make safe any defects in the kitchen or its equipment, reporting any problems to a senior chef.
  • Personal Hygiene and Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, clean uniform, and overall camaraderie, adhering to company procedures and regulations.
  • Menu Planning and Stock Control: Have an understanding of menu planning, the implementation of stock controls, and the importance of good stock management, ensuring that the kitchen meets gross profit targets.
  • Opening and Closing Procedures: Be familiar with the opening and closing procedures of the kitchen and carry them out as rotated, ensuring a smooth transition between shifts.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to be punctual, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work well under pressure. You will also need to have a strong understanding of food preparation and presentation, as well as stock management and control.
