About the Role

The Claims Handler will be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims related to Property, Casualty Liability, and Medical Malpractice. This role requires a strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage, and the claims process.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to resolve claims efficiently and effectively. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential for this role.

The Claims Handler will also be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with clients and insurance companies, fostering trust and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of claims related to Property, Casualty Liability, and Medical Malpractice.
  • Handle claims from first advice to final settlement, including setting up first advice, processing, and managing subsequent movements on Lockton internal claims systems.
  • Meet agreed Service Standards, volumes, and performance levels in line with Key Performance Indicators.
  • Engage in effective negotiations with insurance companies, loss adjusters, and other parties to achieve reasonable claim outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance companies, loss adjusters, lawyers, experts, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in insurance, business administration, law, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on handling P&C Claims.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., Cert CII, working towards Dip CII) and/or evidence of continuing professional development throughout career.
