Job Description

As a key member of the Wood team, the Strategic Procurement Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects by developing and implementing effective procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Strategy Development: Collaborate with project managers to select and prepare the most suitable tendering and contracting strategy that maximizes value for Wood's expenditure, adhering to best practices and innovative ideas.
  • Contractual and Commercial Support: Prepare and compile contractual and commercial aspects of procurement, support works, and service tenders, ensuring viability, legality, interpretation, and ease of administration.
  • Tender Evaluation and Management: Participate in the technical and un-priced commercial evaluation of tenders, and lead the subsequent priced commercial evaluation of technically acceptable offers, incorporating professional adjustment factors as needed.
  • Contract Award and Management: Prepare comprehensive techno-commercial evaluation reports and recommendations, process award recommendations, ensure necessary approvals, and finalize contracts with successful bidders.
  • Contractor Management: Validate the development and implementation of contractor procedures for conformity with contracts, ensuring the accuracy of documentation, guarantees, performance bonds, insurance, and other requirements.

This role requires a strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law, and commercial acumen, with excellent communication and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
