About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to join our team at FinSearch. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for establishing and managing the entire accounting function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the setup of the accounting function from scratch: Develop policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
  • Oversee accounting setup for new markets or countries: Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards.
  • Manage statutory accounts, tax filings, and regulatory submissions: Maintain accurate and timely financial records.
  • Implement robust accounting software and systems: Streamline financial operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Design and maintain strong internal controls: Safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Build and lead a high-performing accounting team: Provide strategic direction and support to the finance department.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management: Provide insights and recommendations on financial performance and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or ACCA certification: Proven track record of setting up accounting functions from scratch or establishing accounting systems in new markets or countries.
  • Relevant experience in accounting and finance: Preferably within a start-up or fintech environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and tax regulations: Strong experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Deep understanding of internal controls, risk management, and financial analysis: Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
