**Principal responsibilities**:

- Operate as a point of accountability for executing an effective framework with the deployment of an integrated approach to manage operational risk and internal control for Wealth, Retail & GPB.
- Provide advice and guidance on the maintenance of an effective internal control environment.
- Have a good understanding of both Retail, Private Banking and Wealth Products in WPB
- Execute control monitoring and results, testing programme based on business requirements.
- Reporting control monitoring and performance data to local management and committees.
- Creating and amending RCAs outputs for WPB distribution particularly the details of key controls.
- Issue, actions management and internal events management.
- BIRO is responsible for assisting the Cyber Information Technology Risk Officers (CITRO) to provide assurance to business management that Information, Technology and Cyber Security Risk and Data Risk policies, procedures, and operating instructions within their respective line of business have been implemented, and to ensure that information security controls are operating effectively.
- Facilitating Risk and Control owners understanding of controls and issues and ensuring business and market staff to are aware of the relevant Information, Technology, cyber-Security Risk policies, Transaction processing, Digital and Data controls, and provide advice and guidance on how to facilitate compliance. They perform risk-based monitoring of Information, controls / policies, and standards to validate control effectiveness and monitor timely resolutions of information security issues including the capability to detect, respond and recover from incidents.
- The role involves facilitating supporting the CITRO for effective collaboration and alignment with the DBS, Second Line Risk functions, Resilience Risk team, ClOs / Heads of IT, DAO and CCO Technology teams, as well as the WPB Senior Management in the business or region. The role holder will be accountable for the development, maintenance and embedding of a global HOST IT, Information Security Risk / Cyber risk, Transaction processing, Digital and Data engagement models for WPB. Ensures compliance with regulatory and data FIM policies, and risk management reports and initiating corrective actions where necessary.
- Create as necessary local communication and guidelines to supplement Global/Regional communications on awareness and training, provider refresher courses or how to comply with Information Security policies and standards, including promoting the requirement to take mandatory trainings, increasing awareness and the percentage of employees taking the training.
- Supporting Global Cybersecurity training and other awareness campaigns by promoting these initiatives to ensure extensive and on-going participation.
Requirements

**To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements**:

- Experience in operational risk, Controls, issues, actions management and Business Information Risk
- Banking experience with an understanding of banking activities, products, processes, and systems
- Knowledge of regulatory environment in the financial services sector.
- Exposure to an operation and a control environment, such as audit or compliance preferred.
- Able to conceptualise the operational impact of business change.
- Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills. Ability to understand complex concepts.
- Understanding of modelling techniques and analytics in respect of Operational Risk.
- Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines.
- Understanding of Non-financial risk management, preferably gained through experience in front line, risk roles, consultancy, or audit.
- Analytics skills and ability to perceive, organize, and assimilate information, to allow appropriate management oversight or to assist in making decisions/ evaluate gaps and offer solutions/proposals. This should include ability to contextualize data into business activities and conclusions.
