Job Purpose: About the role: The VP Commercial & Business Development Cargo - dnata is responsible to lead and improve Cargo Logistics Services by developing new business opportunities in terms of existing product expansion, new products, new commercial ventures, new market segments and niche markets to ensure dnata cargo commercial success and future growth. You will establish a pricing structure for dnata's Cargo products and services at all Cargo handling locations, ensuring the retention of existing contracts and the acquisition of new contracts, within competitive markets. What you will do: - Plan - Develop Cargo Logistics strategy and ensure it is cascaded down to the departments. Ensure that Cargo strategies and related strategic plans are developed and implemented. - Oversee the implementation of the policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls to ensure procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled. - Manage the preparation and consolidation of the function's budgets including new products, commercial projects and revenue from international business and monitors financial performance versus the budget. - Establish revenue opportunities by setting revenue targets (for auxiliary services). - Identify and enhance business opportunities in Global Logistics in terms of new products, market segments, niche markets, to establish, sustain and improve dnata Cargo's leadership world-wide. - Develop and maintain new prospective business partners world-wide for successful functioning of business partners' operations in line with the Division's strategic objectives. - Develop new products to sustain business growth on the new products, new market segments and niche products for successful implementation to sustain growth and profitability in a competitive environment. - Lead - Lead with Safety by ensuring that decisions are made with safety in mind, role model safety behaviours and hold direct reports accountable for fulfilling their roles in line with the safety vision. - Ensure the compliance of all relevant safety policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude. - Ensure the achievement of Cargo's objectives through the leadership of the function by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximise departmental performance. - Ensure that the top 5% of high performers are recognised for high performance and the low 5% performers to have the required development plans. - Manage changes through continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices. - Lead Agency sales force to ensure successful achievement of sales and marketing objectives. - Build and maintain relationships with customers (internally and externally) to ensure that maximum customer satisfaction and optimum profit for dnata. - Execute - Negotiate with the heads of existing international business partners (GHA, GSA CSA) on commercial issues to improve long term relations and achieve the targeted business results. - Build and maintain relationships with the corporate functions including Finance, Insurance, Corporate Communications, Legal and Cargo's senior management for successful and effective implementation of dnata Cargo marketing strategies, service level agreements, system and new business opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience: This job might be for you if you have: Bachelor Degree in Economics or Commerce with preferably a post-graduate qualification in Business Management, Sales or Supply Chain Management. At least 12 years of experience in Air Cargo / Freight forwarding company including at least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities. Expert knowledge in Sales and Marketing techniques Advanced knowledge in Supply Chain Management Experience in Logistics/Air Cargo You will have an edge if you have advanced skills in: Management, Communication and Negotiation Budget and Cost Control IT and Computer Literacy Safety Awareness
