Our client is a holding based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with construction as its core business. It has worked extensively on studies to reduce the cost of construction on affordable housing for Ethiopia, using modern construction technologies in the country. As the company is significantly enlarging its cope of business and has secured an USD 8.5 billion contract to build new homes, the company is seeking to hire a highly skilled CSFO, Chief Strategy & Finance Officer (M/F/d), permanently based in Addis Ababa.

The CSFO (M/F/d) will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and financial analysis for the holding and its subsidiaries. The CSFO (M/F/d) will also be in charge of fundraising, risk mitigation, and guiding the CFO and all subsidiary finance directors, working closely with the CEO and other senior executives to ensure alignment with the holding's overall strategy. As the organization embarks on large-scale construction projects in Addis Ababa, our client is seeking a dynamic leader who can drive excellence. **Your duties and responsibilities will include**:

- Develop and implement the holding's strategic plan in collaboration with the CEO and other senior executives, aligning it with the overall organizational goals
- Provide financial analysis and guidance to the holding and its subsidiaries, including the preparation of budgets, financial reports, and forecasts
- Identify growth opportunities, evaluate potential risks, and formulate strategies to optimize the company's market position
- Collaborate with senior management to set long-term objectives and establish actionable plans to achieve them
- Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscape to anticipate market shifts and adjust strategies accordingly
- Oversee the fundraising activities of the holding and its subsidiaries
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate project viability, profitability, and return on investment
- Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with construction projects, and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Implement risk management frameworks to minimize exposure and protect the company's financial interests
- Guide the CFO and all subsidiary Finance Directors in matters related to financial planning, analysis, and reporting
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory bodies
- Lead negotiations for major financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
- Collaborate with project teams to provide financial and strategic guidance, facilitating effective project execution
- Provide visionary leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Develop and mentor finance professionals, enabling their growth and career progression
- Promote a strong ethical culture and adherence to corporate governance principles throughout the organization

**To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Additional certifications such as CPA or CFA are highly desirable
- Proven experience as a CFO in a construction or infrastructure company is essential
- Working experience in Africa would be advantageous
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis
- In-depth knowledge of construction project financing, cost management, and contract negotiation
- Experience in fundraising and financial risk management
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate
- Excellent communication skills
- Cultural awareness and understanding of the Ethiopian culture
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals and ensure alignment with the holding's overall strategy
- Willingness to be permanently based in Addis Ababa
