**Job Description: Academic Counselor cum Tele Caller**
**Position Overview**:
The Academic Counselor cum Tele Caller is responsible for providing academic counseling and guidance to prospective and current students, helping them make informed decisions regarding their education and career paths. In addition to counseling, this role includes telecalling responsibilities, where the individual will reach out to prospective students, explain course offerings, address inquiries, and assist with the admissions process. This dual-function role supports both student success and enrollment efforts by providing key academic advice and facilitating communication with prospective students.
**Key Responsibilities**:Academic Counseling**:
- **Student Counseling and Guidance**:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students regarding course selection, academic pathways, and career opportunities.
- Assist students in understanding program prerequisites, degree requirements, and the academic schedule.
- Advise students on academic performance, study techniques, and time management to help them achieve academic success.
- Conduct one-on-one counseling for students experiencing academic difficulties, and provide strategies for improvement.
- **Career Counseling**:
- Advise students on career prospects related to their academic programs and help them align their studies with their career goals.
- Provide information on internships, job opportunities, industry trends, and further education options.
- **Student Support Services**:
- Assist students with academic challenges, including recommending tutoring services, workshops, or study groups.
- Help students manage stress, balance academic and personal responsibilities, and guide them through any academic or personal issues affecting their performance.
**Telecalling and Enrollment Support**:
- **Prospective Student Outreach**:
- Reach out to prospective students via phone to provide information on academic programs, course details, and admission requirements.
- Promote the institution’s courses, special programs, and campus events to generate interest and drive enrollment.
- Answer prospective student inquiries, addressing questions about eligibility, admission procedures, financial aid, and course structure.
- Maintain and update records of all calls and interactions with potential students in the CRM system.
- **Lead Qualification and Conversion**:
- Follow up with leads generated through various marketing channels to convert inquiries into admissions.
- Assess the needs of prospective students, offer appropriate academic counseling, and help them make informed decisions about enrolling in the institution.
- **Follow-up and Relationship Building**:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective students and their families, offering personalized counseling and support.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, calls made, leads generated, and admissions converted.
- Generate reports on student inquiries, leads, and conversion rates to track the effectiveness of telecalling efforts.
**Administrative and Support Duties**:
- **Assisting in Admissions and Registration**:
- Support the admissions team in organizing and conducting orientation sessions and information webinars.
- Provide clerical support for the preparation of academic brochures, course schedules, and other relevant materials.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:
- Collaborate with academic departments to ensure that students’ needs and questions are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Work closely with the marketing and outreach teams to improve student engagement and communication strategies.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree
- **Experience**:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in counseling, academic advising, or telecalling (preferably in an educational setting).
- **Skills**:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a diverse student population.
- Ability to build rapport and effectively communicate academic options and career pathways.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Excellent phone etiquette and a customer-centric attitude.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
