The Senior InstitutionalEffectiveness Officer (SIEO) is responsible for the overall successof the Unit of Assessment and Effectiveness at OIPE. As asenior-level professional, the SIEO will lead and promote a cultureof effective assessment and evidence-based continuous improvementthroughout theinstitution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and successfully operated theUnit of Assessment and Effectiveness to achieve its targets,ensuring that all activities are aligned with the strategic goalsof the institution.
- Champion the establishmentof a culture of evidence-based assessment, evaluation, andcontinuous improvement across all academic and non-academic unitsof the University, providing guidance and support asneeded.
- Develop and implement training andprofessional development programs for faculty and staff in areasrelated to institutionaleffectiveness.
- Organize and lead assessmentworkshops for academic units, utilizing best practices to enhanceunderstanding of new processes for continuous quality improvementand closing the loop.
- Oversee and review annualeffectiveness reports from all colleges for all academic programs,and provide recommendations forimprovement.
- Research and provide informationon benchmarking and best practices in institutional effectiveness,and develop strategies to implement these practices at theinstitution.
- Conduct feedback surveys foracademic and non-academic units of AU to identify areas forimprovement and opportunities forgrowth.
- Develop, implement, and coordinatecomprehensive plans for educational outcomes assessment, ensuringthat all programs are aligned with the institution's goalsand objectives.
- Assess the suitability of theneeds assessment for new academic programs, and makerecommendations for improvements asneeded.
- Prepare the Annual Report, all surveyreports, corrective/improvement action reports, and InstitutionalAssessment and Effectiveness SummaryReport.
- Audit course files for all programs andprovide recommendations forimprovement.
- Coordinate IEC and APCmeetings.
- Prepare responses to ERT reportsrelated to assessment and effectiveness as per the CAA deadlines,ensuring that all responses are accurate andcomprehensive.
- Perform other tasks as directedby the Executive Director of OIPE.
QUALIFICATIONS& EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor degree with at least fiveyears’ experience in assessment and effectivenessreporting.
- A proven track record of managinginstitutional effectivenessprojects.
- Experience of working with senioracademics.
- Experience of working diligently toachieve targets while abiding by the specifieddeadlines.

- In-depth knowledge of assessment practices forcontinuous improvement, with experience of implementing bestpractices in an institutionalsetting.
- Expertise in determining and enhancinginstitutional effectiveness, with experience of developing andimplementing strategies to improve institutionalperformance.
- Ability to rapidly assimilateinformation and take control of a project, working to a very tightdeadline, with excellent project management and problem-solvingskills.
- Exceptional written and verbalcommunication skills, with experience of producing high-qualityreports and presentations for senior-levelstakeholders.
- Highly developed communication,interpersonal, and influencing skills, with a proven ability towork effectively with a wide range of colleagues, includingsenior-level colleagues.
- Excellentorganizational and prioritizing skills, with the ability to managemultiple projects and prioritiessimultaneously.
- Excellent IT skills, includingword processing, data analysis, and database management.
WORKINGCONDITIONS:
- Work is normally performed in atypical interior/office work environment.
- No orvery limited physical effort required.
- No orvery limited exposure to physical risk.
- Theposition may entail work after duty hours, on weekends, holidaysand in emergency (i.e. may be subject to“on-call” responsibilities).
