JOBDESCRIPTION:

  • Thisposition will be directly reporting to The Executive Director ofOIPE.
  • TheSenior Institutional Effectiveness Officer (SIEO) is responsiblefor the overall success of the Unit of Assessment and Effectivenessat OIPE. As a seniorlevel professional the SIEO will lead andpromote a culture of effective assessment and evidencebasedcontinuous improvement throughout theinstitution.


KEYRESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THEROLE:

  • Leadand successfully operate the Unit of Assessment and Effectivenessto achieve its targets ensuring that all activities are alignedwith the strategic goals of theinstitution.
  • Overseeand review annual effectiveness reports from all colleges for allacademic programs and provide recommendations forimprovement.
  • Championthe establishment of a culture of evidencebased assessmentevaluation and continuous improvement across all academic andnonacademic units of the University providing guidance and supportasneeded.
  • Developand implement training and professional development programs forfaculty and staff in areas related to institutionaleffectiveness.
  • Organizeand lead assessment workshops for academic units utilizing bestpractices to enhance understanding of new processes for continuousquality improvement and closing theloop.
  • Researchand provide information on benchmarking and best practices ininstitutional effectiveness and develop strategies to implementthese practices at theinstitution.
  • Conductfeedback surveys for academic and nonacademic units of AU toidentify areas for improvement and opportunities forgrowth.
  • Developimplement and coordinate comprehensive plans for educationaloutcomes assessment ensuring that all programs are aligned with theinstitutions goals andobjectives.
  • Assessthe suitability of the needs assessment for new academic programsand make recommendations for improvements asneeded.
  • PrepareAnnual Report all survey reports corrective/improvement actionreports and Institutional Assessment and Effectiveness SummaryReport.
  • Auditcourse files for all programs and provide recommendations forimprovement.
  • CoordinateIECmeetings.
  • Prepareresponses to ERT reports related to assessment and effectiveness asper the CAA deadlines ensuring that all responses are accurate andcomprehensive.
  • Performother tasks as directed by the Executive Director ofOIPE.


PREFFEREDQUALIFICATIONS ANDCHARACTERISTICS:

  • Bachelors degree with at least five years experience in assessment andeffectivenessreporting.
  • Aproven track record of managing institutional effectivenessprojects.
  • Experienceof working with senioracademics.
  • Experienceof working successfully to deadlines underpressure.
  • Indepthknowledge of assessment practices for continuous improvement withexperience of implementing best practices in an institutionalsetting.
  • Expertisein determining and enhancing institutional effectiveness withexperience of developing and implementing strategies to improveinstitutionalperformance.
  • Abilityto rapidly assimilate information and take control of a projectworking to a very tight deadline with excellent project managementand problemsolvingskills.
  • Exceptionalwritten and verbal communication skills with experience ofproducing highquality reports and presentations for seniorlevelstakeholders.
  • Highlydeveloped communication interpersonal and influencing skills with aproven ability to work effectively with a wide range of colleaguesincluding seniorlevelcolleagues.
  • Excellentorganizational and prioritizing skills with the ability to managemultiple projects and prioritiessimultaneously.
  • ExcellentIT skills including word processing data analysis and databasemanagement.

  • Workis normally performed in a typical interior/office workenvironment.
