Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Night Manager to join our team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all operational guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage department supplies and maintain adequate levels of inventory.
  • Ensure all employees are properly uniformed and groomed, adhering to our high standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure employees are working in a secure and healthy space.
  • Manage period-end inventories and maintain accurate records.
  • Direct, monitor, and assist overnight staff to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Monitor guest tracking scores and employee opinion survey results to identify areas for improvement.

Revenue Growth and Profitability

  • Review financial statements, sales reports, and performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement.
  • Assist in responding to and resolving guest issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Support the accounts receivable clerk in managing invoices and maintaining a low days outstanding balance.
  • Monitor and process chargebacks and rebates in a timely manner.
  • Administer plans to minimize chargebacks and rebates.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to proper cash handling procedures and monitor overage/shortages.
  • Manage employee hours and schedules to optimize productivity.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and implement action plans to prevent guest issues.

Human Resources and Development

  • Promote participation in property safety-related programs and initiatives.
  • Monitor employee attendance and record absences/tardiness.
  • Promote teamwork and employee morale through various initiatives.
  • Ensure all employees are trained on specific aspects of their job and are aware of available resources for problem-solving.
  • Keep employees informed about new operational procedures, standards, or programs.
  • Ensure all employees have complete knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Facilitate open communication between employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Provide orientation for new employees and ensure all necessary information is entered into our system.
  • Support supervisors in achieving their development goals.
  • Encourage employee relations through gifts, parties, and outings.
  • Create incentives to promote better service and profit for the property.
  • Assist the operations manager in processing employee payroll.
  • Solicit employee feedback and utilize an open-door policy to address employee concerns.
  • Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently, and disciplinary procedures are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
