OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

Duncan & Ross is in search of a proficient Marine Structural Engineer to become a vital part of our offshore project team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the design assessment and supervision of marine and offshore infrastructures tailored to our Oil & Gas initiatives. This position demands a robust foundation in naval architecture and marine engineering, particularly within offshore settings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and evaluate marine and offshore infrastructures, including platforms, floating systems, mooring configurations, and marine apparatus, ensuring adherence to global standards, regulatory guidelines, and project specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments, technical analyses, and risk evaluations for marine infrastructures, offering insights to enhance design integrity, stability, and operational performance.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, marine specialists, offshore operations experts, and project managers, to seamlessly integrate naval engineering solutions into project designs.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation related to naval architecture and marine engineering for offshore projects.
  • Review and assess vendor proposals, technical documents, and construction drawings to ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Actively engage in design evaluations, technical discussions, and client presentations, effectively conveying complex engineering concepts and solutions.
  • Conduct site inspections and surveys offshore to verify construction progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical assistance during procurement processes, including bid assessments, supplier selection, and contract negotiations for marine and offshore equipment and services.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, technological innovations, and regulatory changes pertinent to naval architecture and marine engineering in offshore environments.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Marine Structural Engineer or Naval Engineer, specifically in offshore projects within the Oil & Gas sector, with a solid background in EPC contracting.
  • Proficiency in naval architecture software tools such as NAPA, MOSES, Orca3D, or equivalent.
  • Strong grasp of marine and offshore engineering principles, including structural analysis, stability, hydrodynamics, and mooring systems.
  • Familiarity with international standards and codes applicable to offshore infrastructures (e.g., ABS, DNV, API).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), with the capability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
