About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer to join our team at WSP, where you will play a key role in delivering engineering consultancy services in the fields of port planning and concept design of port infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership and project/package management for areas of port planning services, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple technical disciplines.
  2. Assist in preparing proposals and delivering presentations for our services, effectively communicating with clients and stakeholders.
  3. Communicate with clients and other team members, coordinating services across multiple technical disciplines, and applying skill and care in all services.
  4. Take ownership of individual packages, ensuring timely completion and high-quality deliverables.

Requirements:

  1. A member of/working towards a Professional body membership will be preferred, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  2. History of working with an international engineering consultancy, with a strong understanding of global best practices.
  3. Familiar with working in multidisciplinary teams involving architects, M&E engineers, planners, geotechnical engineers, and quantity surveyors, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Effective and clear communicator, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations.
  5. Ability to undertake tasks with limited supervision, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and self-motivation.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Tech/B.E./B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
  2. 4-8 years demonstrable experience in planning and design of maritime infrastructure, including container terminals, bulk terminals, general cargo facilities, quay walls, dredging, jetties, dolphins, Ro Ro facilities, marinas, coastal structures, and onshore port infrastructure.
  3. Good knowledge of all the relevant Eurocodes, British standards, PIANC, and other guidelines applicable to maritime infrastructure, with a strong understanding of construction techniques and buildability of maritime structures.
  4. Eagerness to continuously learn and develop, with a strong desire to stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements.
  5. Good organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  6. Good written and verbal skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations.
