About the Role:

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to lead our offshore projects team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing structural systems for offshore platforms and associated facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Analysis:
    Develop detailed structural designs, calculations, and drawings for various components of offshore platforms, including topsides, jackets, and subsea structures. Utilize software tools such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, or similar for structural analysis considering environmental loads, seismic factors, and dynamic effects.
  2. Collaboration and Leadership:
    Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure structural designs align with project requirements, safety standards, and client expectations. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, designers, and drafters to support their professional development and ensure quality of deliverables.
  3. Compliance and Standards:
    Interpret and apply project specifications, client requirements, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., API RP 2A, AISC, Eurocodes) to ensure compliance throughout the design and execution phases.
  4. Review and Coordination:
    Participate in design reviews and interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate structural design activities with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    Prepare technical specifications, reports, and documentation related to structural materials, construction methods, and quality assurance.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on Offshore Oil & Gas projects preferred.
  • Proficiency in structural design and analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore structural systems, including steel and concrete design, foundation design, and offshore installation methods.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards relevant to offshore structural engineering (e.g., API RP 2A, AISC, Eurocodes).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
