Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Host to join our team at IHG Hotels & Resorts. As a Restaurant Host, you will be responsible for ensuring a warm and welcoming experience for our guests from the moment they arrive at our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Greeting and Seating: Meet and greet all guests, and potential guests, at the front of the restaurant by ensuring the following:
    1. Ensure the restaurant is ready to receive guests prior to opening and that both wait staff and tables are ready in line with opening standards
    2. Ensure restaurant operating equipment is clean and in working order
    3. Maintain impeccable uniform and personal presentation standards in accordance with hotel policy
    4. Welcome guests to the restaurant, by using the restaurant name
    5. Inquire if they have a reservation and note it in the reservation book if they do
    6. Create a reservation for them with their dining preferences if they do not and note it in the reservation book
    7. Be attentive to guest requests
  2. Table Management: Escort guests to their preferred table or reserved table and seat guests according to restaurant standards
  3. Reservations and Administration: Take telephone bookings and document in the Reservation book according to restaurant standards
  4. Training and Development: Train servers and runners as per SOP
  5. Guest Service Recovery: Be attentive to guests and resolve their complaints where possible, reporting all incidents to your Supervisor
  6. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain responsibility for the cleanliness of hostess stations, all menus, and drink menus
  7. Food and Beverage Service: Assist with food and beverage service as needed
  8. Menu Knowledge: Maintain detailed knowledge of the menu, including daily specials
  9. Table Clearing: Ensure tables are cleared quietly and efficiently
  10. Food and Beverage Handling: Carry food and beverage trays in a safe manner to minimize breakages
  11. Administrative Tasks: Complete dockets accurately and clearly
  12. Hotel Knowledge: Maintain current information on all general activities of the hotel
