Job Summary

Visa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in drafting and negotiating complex business transactions, including incentive, brand, and strategic alliance agreements with traditional payment system participants and new payment system participants such as fintechs, neobanks, and cryptowallets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and Negotiating Complex Agreements: You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating complex business transactions, including incentive, brand, and strategic alliance agreements with traditional payment system participants and new payment system participants.
  • Extensive Business Dealings: You will have extensive business dealings with Visa's external client base, including financial institutions, processors, merchants, and fintechs.
  • Template Agreements: You will be responsible for drafting, updating, and managing template agreements to allow for more efficient contract administration processes.
  • Legal Support: You will provide legal support to Visa's account executives responsible for managing global client relationships.
  • Collaboration: You will work closely with internal subject matter experts and regional attorneys to ensure that all agreements are properly negotiated and executed.
Qualifications
  • Experience: You must have at least 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Master's, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD.
  • Preferred Qualifications: You should have 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Master's, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
  • Eligibility to Practice Law: You must be a member in good standing in at least one jurisdiction in the United States and eligible to practice law.
  • Business Acumen: You must have strong business acumen and the ability to understand the company's business interests and anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: You must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex legal concepts into business-oriented advice.
