About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal professional to lead our team of lawyers in the MEA Cluster. As the Legal Head, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice to senior management and the Legal Function as a whole, across one or more Divisions and countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the legal strategy within the Division / Region / Global BF/ BU and contribute to the development of the organization's business strategy.
  • Provide legal leadership on issues across the Division / Region / Global BF/BU by providing pro-active, in-depth, business focused advice and counsel.
  • Provide substantive legal counsel to senior management and the Legal Function as a whole, across one or more Divisions and countries.
  • Identify legal framework developments and guide the Cross-Divisional Legal group within the Top Priority country, aligning and promoting consistency of approach in legal matters between the Divisions.
  • Counsel senior-level executives and business teams within other functions on complex and sensitive legal and business issues, interact with other functions within Novartis to support Business Partner training and counsel non-Legal associates, and lead or contribute to both formal and informal teams in provision of legal expertise.
  • Anticipate and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws relevant to own substantive area to provide strategic advice and foster compliance.
  • Lead the development of and counsel on appropriate Novartis policies in connection with substantive area.
  • Oversee the management and development of large teams of attorneys globally.
  • Reporting of technical complaints / adverse events / special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt.
