About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Baby Category team at MyGwork - LGBTQ+ Business Community. As the Head of Baby Category, you will be responsible for driving business growth, managing a full P&L, and developing a multi-functional team of Vendor Managers and Program Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Execute a strategic business development plan, working closely with key internal stakeholders to drive growth and profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Develop and lead a high-performing team, with ownership covering the B2C store and the B2B store (Amazon Business).
  • Operational Management: Lead day-to-day operational aspects of the business, including gathering and addressing customer and vendor feedback, price management, and business improvement initiatives.
  • Strategic Direction: Set goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.
  • Vendor Relationships: Represent MyGwork - LGBTQ+ Business Community when meeting with senior executive teams from top vendors, building long-term strategic relationships.
  • Business Improvement: Generate and implement big ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and scale within the category and across the Retail business.
  • Process Improvement: Lead cross-functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs, including retail systems, site merchandising, and in-stock.
  • Customer and Vendor Programs: Innovate and implement new customer and vendor programs.
  • Marketing and Merchandising: Collaborate on Marketing and Merchandising initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, operations, and/or business management.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing, and promotion or inventory management.
  • Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form.
  • Experience delivering results, setting strategy, and running a large volume and high-profile business.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and developing talent.
  • Experience managing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with P&L responsibility and delivering strong financial results.
  • Experience leading and transforming highly effective organizations.
