About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Leader to join our team at Al-Futtaim. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for driving strategic goals and implementing category management strategies to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Strategy Development: Derive game-changing strategies by defining clear category objectives, working with analytical data, business stakeholders, and market expertise. Align strategies to measurable targets and clearly convey them to the organization.
  • Procurement Vision: Create a procurement vision based on insights into procurement leading practices and experience in strategy development. Link procurement strategy to Al-Futtaim's overall strategy and convey it clearly to the organization.
  • Value Chain Analysis: Map the value chain, analyze it, and derive potential scenarios. Include the understanding and application of total cost of ownership and should-cost modeling.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Support reports to determine appropriate compliance levels. Monitor end-to-end compliance (budget, payment, vendor PO, contract invoice, buying channel, etc.) and derive corrective actions to improve compliance.
  • Risk Management: Apply risk management processes, including identifying and evaluating risks, and defining and executing a risk mitigation plan.
  • Financial Discussions: Participate in and/or lead financial discussions. Apply financial knowledge to participate actively, e.g., in budgeting processes, including tax aspects in sourcing strategies and structuring sophisticated deals with ecosystem partners.
  • Procurement Tools and Processes: Support the definition and implementation of procurement tools and processes.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Manage data analysis and reporting, e.g., analyzing spend, demand, supply markets, and competitors. Extract, cleanse, and consolidate information to fact-based insights for further usage, e.g., in category strategies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Demand Management: Ensure the right balance between business needs and sensible budgetary spending. Accountable to work with stakeholders to identify the most cost-effective ways to deliver business objectives.
  • Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management: Execute the Source-to-Contract process, including respective strategies, approaches, and methods: preparing and conducting fact-based negotiations. Adapting tactics from a broad portfolio of negotiation strategies to achieve results that support business and procurement objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Analyze specifications for optimization. Link specifications to customer value, challenging specifications confidently. Convey messages clearly and convincingly to stakeholders.
  • People Management: Create an environment of coaching and ongoing capability development, motivating individuals to perform at their best. Set clear performance goals in collaboration with teams/individuals, monitor outcomes, and hold them accountable.
Requirements
  • Education: University/Advanced degree needed. Master's Degree/other advanced degree.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant business experience (industry-specific experience). Preferably 10+ years of experience in Procurement or other related experience within the Automotive, Retail, Real Estate, or other Al-Futtaim group-related industry, preferably in category management, supplier management, or related areas, with a focus on Indirect Categories.
  • Skills: Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Successful project execution by providing all external solutions in time/at the required quality/within budget as verified by the business. Value delivery – right-sized spending and projected savings in compliance with a meaningful guideline. Successful and measurable execution on efficiency programs. Measurable and continuous process improvement & compliance assurance. Understanding of Procurement KPIs related to market insights, price, and demand development as well as procurement's performance.
