Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced FM Manager - Civil Engineering Expert to join our team at Al-Futtaim. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our facilities management team and ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of our construction and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Direct and manage a team of employees in construction and maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and authorities.
    • Develop and implement staff development programs to enhance skills and competencies.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports and provide guidance and support as needed.
    • Assign project work, coach, mentor, and provide technical support to the FM team.
  • Contract Management
    • Oversee the contract team's staff performance, outputs, and deliverables based on the contract SLA's and KPI's.
    • Monitor, coach, manage, and lead the team on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Process Management
    • Establish and implement best practices and focus on continuous improvement.
    • Evaluate contract management from a technical point of view to identify risk factors and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
    • Manage and prioritize the workload of daily operations.
    • Carry out value engineering studies based on client budget constraints.
    • Create and update property asset registers to ensure accurate asset information.
    • Prepare condition reports and capital asset replacement plans.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Financial and job cost accounting knowledge, including commercial requirements.
    • Knowledge of facilities planning and construction management processes and procedures.
    • Knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and scheduling practices.
    • Knowledge of current construction costs, escalation factors, and market trends.
    • Knowledge of building codes and standards of practice, laws governing construction contracts, and contracting.
    • Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
    • Skills in reading and interpreting plans and specifications and comparing them with construction progress.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiating skills.
    • Strong computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 15 years' experience, with five years at the management level.
    • Excellent knowledge of Contract Conditions - FIDIC.
    • Local certification - DM Certified - Civil Engineer (unlimited).
