Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Lead teaching, curriculum development, and course management supporting the College's activities in public relations studies.
  • Research and Scholarly Activity: Engage actively in research/scholarly activity.
  • Student Experience: Undertake projects at the course/college level focused on enhancing student practical experience.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor colleagues with less experience; coordinate the work of others to ensure effective teaching delivery; supervise administrative and professional staff.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in community engagement activities.
  • Academic Guidance: Provide high-quality academic guidance and advice, enhancing students' employability.
  • External Partnerships: Work with external partners and professional bodies/agencies in the UAE and overseas.
  • Teaching Practice: Reflect critically on teaching practice, implement improvements, disseminate good practice effectively, and contribute to quality monitoring and enhancement and professional accreditation processes as required.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively as a team member, chairing committees and working groups, and supervising or mentoring other staff as appropriate.
  • Teaching Support: Demonstrate innovative approaches to teaching and support for students through a wide range of learning resources and appropriate pedagogic practice.

Requirements:

  • Teaching Experience: Evidence of sound full-time teaching experience with an appropriate scholarly record at the assistant/associate professor level in higher education or hold an MA with a high professional record.
  • Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in the field of Public Relations for at least five years.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in Arabic and English (with special emphasis on the ability to teach in both languages).
  • Research and Creativity: Evidence of excellence in research/creativity.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Experience serving diverse communities or groups traditionally under-represented in academia.
  • Professional Organizations: Active participation in professional organizations or associations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Academic Preparation: Academic preparation and professional qualifications to teach public relations courses at the undergraduate level.
